This degree will prepare you to become a teacher of children aged6 to 12 years old. You will learn what people are like while understanding the society we live in and how knowledge is organised. You will have the opportunity to assist children in their personal and social development.
Children´s education and you would like to be a part of their learning process; if you believe that schools are the driver of social change and you are enthusiastic about the idea of working to achieve this, then this degree is right for you.
How learning and caringworks. You will also learn how to manage groups and how to adequately guide students both personally and academically.
In 3rd and 4th years, you will have the opportunity to gain further insight into one of these areas:
You will study mainly in Basque and you will have the option of taking subjects in English. Once you have successfully completed your degree, you will be able to obtain the recognition of the C1* language profile in Basque by the Basque Government, by studying at least 60% of your studies in Basque. The subjects of the specialisation in a Foreign Language: English are taught in English.

You will be able to be a tutor and teach general subjects , but you will also leave the degree with a specialisation in one of these four professional areas: Therapeutic Pedagogy (Bilbao), Foreign Language: English (Bilbao), Physical Education (San Sebastian) or Hearing and Speech (San Sebastian).

You will benefit from the teaching and research experience of a pioneering and leading institution in educationstudies andeducational innovationin the Basque Country, with a long tradition in continuous teacher training and in the management of educational establishments.

You will do external internships in 2nd and 4th years. Therefore, when you graduate you will be well acquainted with the professional reality of educational establishments. It is a tutored, personalised programme to help you make the most of your stay at the centre.

Once you have completed your degree, you will also have the option of further specialising in any of the other three specialisations offered at the University of Deusto, which is an ideal way to improve your career prospects. The degree will also open doors to other specialist studies (official master's degrees, PhD programmes).

You will find a close learning environment and personal tutoring from first to fourth year of study. Your tutor will guide you academically, personally and/or professionally. In addition, you will have a teaching team ready to guide you on any issues that may arise throughout your studies.
