The University

The University of Deusto was founded in 1886 by the Society of Jesus. With campuses in Bilbao and San Sebastian and branches in Vitoria and Madrid, its hallmarks are education in skills and values, thanks to its own socially recognised teaching model. It is also characterised by its specialist research , its commitment to justice and international outreach.

This is the ambitious and motivating motto chosen at the world meeting of Jesuit universities (Bilbao 2018) and now also endorsed by the University of Deusto to inspire the Deusto 2022 Initiative: people and institutions transforming the world together.

Deusto Education Model

It was designed to be a model that promotes and guarantees quality and teaching innovation, agility and flexibility in response to the demands of society and organisations, and the transmission of values and principles that are always oriented towards equality and social justice.

Teaching innovation

It provides a service to the university community, especially to the academic staff, in the exercise of their work as lecturers within the framework of the European Higher Education Area, based on the "UD Learning Model", and complying with the quality assurance system.

Quality assurance

The Quality Unit is responsible for promoting and developing the quality policy in the fields of teaching, research and management, and submitting this policy to systematic and continuous evaluation. To this end, it provides advice and technical support to all stakeholders in the university community.

Deusto online

At Deusto we have developed a model that allows us to offer you the same quality education we provide in every course we teach in our classrooms, but with the advantages of removing the barriers of distance and scheduling constraints.

Deusto-society cooperation

Deusto Social Lab is a space conceived as an ecosystem that is firmly committed to innovation. It aims to contribute to the development of the individual as an actor of social transformation through cooperation between all economic and social players.
