The Library is a Resource Centre for Learning and Research and activities related to the operation and management of the University as a whole.
The University of Deusto was founded in 1886 by the Society of Jesus and the University Library was created that same year, which has evolved over the years in accordance with the changes that have taken place in university teaching and learning models.
The Bilbao campus building was officially opened in January 2009 and the San Sebastian campus building in July 2021.
The Library has been designed as a highly versatile space to respond to changes in use quickly and easily. Its mission is to facilitate access and dissemination of information resources and collaborate in knowledge creation processes to achieve the University's objectives. This involves carrying out activities in a sustainable and socially responsible manner (REBIUN 2013).
