Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education

The specialism in a Foreign Language: English responds to the aim of the Basque Government’s Education Department to promote a trilingual system. It will enable you to teach the English language subject. 

The purpose of the specialism is twofold :

• To prepare students to acquire the language level necessary for professional practice(Accreditation of foreign language proficiency at B2 level or higher is required to teach foreign language subjects in non-university education in the Basque Autonomous Community). Decree 2376 BOPV). 
• To provide the necessary knowledge on the teachingof a second and third language.

• English for Primary School Teachers I
• Foreign Language Teaching II
• English for Primary Teachers II
• Creative Use of Teaching Resources in the Primary School Classroom

This specialism, which hasgreat social scope, will provide you with the whole set of attitudes, values, strategies, competences and tools necessary to act as a practitioner in educational inclusion within the ordinary classroom, that is, as a therapeutic pedagogy teacher (better known as a "PT", or support teacher).

• Education of Pupils with Mobility Limitations or Disabilities

The specialism in Hearing and Speechis a response to an increasingly evident need in educational centres, as many of the learning difficulties that pupils present in primary schools are related to the development and evolution of their language.

If you choose this specialism...

• You will be prepared to work as a support teacher with students who have specific difficulties related to hearing and speech such as reading, writing, comprehension and verbal expression, among others.
• You will be able to work as an educational inclusion practitioner in the ordinary classroom.

• General Intervention Strategies in Hearing and Speech Therapy
• Specific Strategies for the Intervention of People with Hearing Impairment

If you study the specialism in Physical Education, you can become a Physical Education teacher and work as a children's sports coach in schools, sports centres or gymnasiums.

You will acquire the necessary knowledge on the teaching of this subject and on the body and sport (motor skills, corporeality, play and sport, etc.).
