Live expectancy, chronicity and sedentary lifestyles are increasing the demand for health care today and in the years to come. For this reason, the Physiotherapy degree must address new areas and lines of action beyond the sometimes exclusive rehabilitation role. Therefore, it is necessary to reinforce and prioritise the prevention of illness and the protection, maintenance and promotion of health.
The University of Deusto offers this degree within the area of Health to provide innovative and effective training to those whose vocation is to preserve, restore and increase people's health in order to improve their everyday living conditions.
The degree covers a wide range of areas of knowledge: health promotion, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, physical activity, functionality, management of chronic, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, traumatological, paediatric, uro-gynaecological, sports diseases, people with disabilities, emerging populations such as the elderly, mental health, community health, etc.
We are committed to innovative training methodologies such as simulation, offering new sports facilities, together with the laboratories and simulation spaces of a virtual hospital that guarantee the ideal means for the development and acquisition of skills in a practical and experiential way.
You have the option of choosing between the Spanish or Basquegroup. In both cases, students can study some subjects in English.

The University of Deusto has prepared new specific facilities for Physiotherapy degree at the San Sebastian campus. You will discover various spaces with state-of-the-art technology such as a rehabilitation gym , private consultations and a virtual hospital for practical training.

Internships in the Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy are a fundamental pillar for putting into practice and complementing the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired. From your 2nd year onwards, you will do more than 1,000 hours of external internships, in which you will get an insight into the profession.

In the second semester of the 3rd year,º, you will have the opportunity to study Physiotherapy in another country or in another Spanish region thanks to our exchange programmes with leading Spanish and European universities.

We consider it key to include research as part of the study programme so that physiotherapy can continue to grow as a scientifically qualified profession. To this end, two research subjects are offered from the 1st year onwards, enabling you to acquire the core skills and tools from the onset.

Since this is a practical profession, we believe that university education should also be practicalandexperiential. This is why we are committed to innovative and experiential methodologies such as simulation and laboratory practices, which will allow to develop and integrate competences in a much more natural way.

You will find a close learning environment and personal tutoring from first to fourth years. Your tutor will guide you academically, personally and/or professionally. In addition, you will have a teaching team ready to guide you with any queries you may have throughout your studies.
The new facilities in the Larramendi Building on the San Sebastian campus house Biomechanics and Neurosciences , Physiology labs, and Anatomy and Natural Sciences labs laboratories; a Virtual Hospital with a consultation area, therapeutic gymnasium, hospitalisation area and an ICU room (Intensive Care Unit) and theoretical-practical classrooms equipped with specialised equipment.
