The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences has traditionally excelled in its commitment to quality research; this is evidenced by the presence in the Faculty of several University Institutes and their transfer through postgraduate teaching, publications or collaborations with other institutional and social actors.
Thus, the Faculty stands out for its research in areas such as Human Rights, Leisure and Human Development, and Applied Ethics. However, the Faculty also hosts other research teams with a proven and recognised track record, such as those in the field of Social Values or Communication. Finally, Basque and Cultural Studies, Tourism and International Relationsare also priority research areas at the Faculty.
Our team critically analyses and interprets the role of communication in society, and does so from different perspectives, analysing oral, literary, digital and audiovisual discourse within the framework of these three main research areas: Communication and gender, communication, values and public opinion and communication, discourses and identities.
"Human Rights and Sociocultural Challenges in a Changing World" brings together people working for a human rights culture from an academic and scientific perspective, and with a strong social and international vocation.
The Deusto Social Values Team is an interdisciplinary team focused on the analysis of social reality that researches issues related to democracy, social welfare, social policies, social intervention and feminist studies.
The group's work focuses on a vision of leisure, integrating the experiences of culture and tourism as a fundamental human right, which contributes to social transformation.
We do research to identify, understand and address the ethical challenges facing our fast-changing societies.
