The University of Deusto Law School is a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Union Law and International Relations. The award was granted by the European Commission in 2013 and consolidates the long history of teaching, research and dissemination of European and international issues that the University of Deusto began with the creation in 1979 of the Institute of European Studies, the first university centre dedicated to studies on European integration.
