    About the Master’s degree

    The Master's Degree in Law and Legal Practice, taught jointly by the University of Deusto Law School and the "Pedro Ibarreche" School of Legal Practice of the Biscay Bar Association, will enable you to acquire the professional skills required by Law 34/2006 and its Royal Decree 775/2011 and to pass the assessment test held annually by the Ministries of Justice and Education, which is the last requirement, once the Master's Degree has been successfully completed, for access to the legal profession.

    Why study this Master’s degree?

    1. Legal guardianships

    You will carry out law tutorials in various Courts and Tribunals in Bilbao: you will learn first-hand about the functions and structure of the Courts and Tribunals of Justice, in direct contact with the Judges and Magistrates.

    2. Legal practice simulations

    You will carry out trial simulations both throughout the course and outside the University, such as at the Judicial School of Barcelona with students from other Masters in Access to the Legal Profession or at the Provincial Court of León, in which the Bar Associations of León, Salamanca, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and Cantabria also participate.

    3. Police stations and courts

    You will accompany legal assistants on duty in police stations and courts.

     

    4. Exam preparation sessions 

    Specific preparation sessions for the State Examination for Access to the Legal Profession.

    5. Legal English course (TOLES Legal)

    You will be able to complement your Master's degree with intensive and specific preparation for the Test of Legal English Skills.

    6. Visits to centres

    You will visit prisons and juvenile detention centres.
