You are a graduate in Law, Economics, Business, Nautical and Maritime Transport, or you have a degree that qualifies you for professional practice in the field of maritime port activity.
You are a person working in the maritime sector and want to take the opportunity to gain an academic qualification at a higher level.
You work in ports, shipping agents, shipping lines, stevedores, regular shipping lines and foreign trade
As well as the legal, technical and economic aspects of the sector at national and international level.
In 2009, the Basque Government’s Maritime Administration School and Deusto Law School signed an agreement for the teaching of this Master's Degree

Taking into account that 90% of international trade moves through this route, the professional opportunities behind it are enormous.
Advise, if necessary, on the legal aspects of Maritime Freight Transport contracts (Chartering), associated with court procedures.
Close ship contracts
Prepare settlements in cases of sea casualties and incidents in insurance companies.
Organise and coordinate different means of transport
Settle ships accounts for calling at ports.
Logistics control in the port and shipping industry
Advise on international merchandise trade, through appropriate use of Incoterms
Perform duties in the Maritime and Port Administration and business development tasks in Spanish offices abroad.
Use the means and documents specific to international trade and promote the internationalisation of companies that tend to operate in global trade
Second only to land transport, maritime transport is widely used in the transfer of goods. Legal services are essential from the first moment any type of negotiation is undertaken.

´During the Master’s course, there will be a compulsory trip to London to visit the most representative Shipping institutions (International Maritime Organisation, IOPC Fund, Lloyd's Britannia P&I, etc.). The trip will be held in May 2021 and will be paid by the students themselves. The cost is approximately 500 euros, as it is partially financed by the Basque Government.
The International Propeller Club awards an annual prize of 1,000 euros to the student with the best academic record. The Basque Country’s Propeller Club-Port of Bilbao is an association that brings together professionals from all areas related to the maritime sector in the Basque Country.
Each year the Master's brings together professionals from the sector to address current and strategic issues.
