Complement your bachelor´s degree with
The first year focuses on acquiring the bases for reasoning and law methodologies. You will study the fundamentals of Law and other complementary subject areas needed to understand these concepts. During this year, your will receive an introduction to the different branches of Law: Public, Private and International.
In the second and third years, you will gain further insight into he distinctive characteristics of the different branches of law: Criminal, Tax, Civil, Labour, Commercial, European Union Law; you will learn about the functioning of companies and public administrations, as well as citizens' behaviour in relation to the various institutions.
In the fourth year, You will put into practice the skills acquired throughout your studies and you will delve deeper into those subjects of greatest interest to you by choosing optional subjects. You can spend your first semester abroad at one of the universities the UD has agreements with.
The Undergraduate Final Year Project, which is carried out in this year, will provide an overall approach to the competences acquired by referring to at least two branches of law.
You will take a total of 8 subjects specific to the area, spread over the 4 years (Legal Tech or Specialisation in Economics). If you choose the International Specialisation (Skills for International Lawyers), 4 additional subjects are added to the curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Law or the Bachelor's Degree with the Specialisation in Economics or Legal Tech.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to apply for the Dual International Programme, which will allow you to study your 4th year in the USA and gain a Master of Laws (LLM).

This pathway will allow you to specialise in the legal instruments that regulate relations with public administrations, with an in-depth study of constitutional, criminal or administrative law.
This pathway provides you with greater understanding of the laws that regulate business and economics, focusing on mercantile law and other economic aspects of law.
This pathway covers legal aspects that go beyond national law and link up with supranational regulations in the spheres of public and private law.
You will have the opportunity to study part of your degree at a foreign university through the international mobilityprogramme in 4th year. Language level and academic record will be taken into account when applying.
You can choose between a one-semester international stay (1st semester of 4th year) or a full-year international stay (international double programme).

You have the option to study the Law degree in three languages(Spanish, Basque and English) or in two languages (Spanish and Basque). You also have the option of taking the course entirely in Spanish or Basque (80%).
The University of Deusto's Law Degree has received the Seal of Recognition for Internationalisation from UNIBASQ (Basque University System Quality Agency) in 2021
The University of Deusto, within the framework of its University Project and in compliance with the Basque Standardisation Plan, has progressively introduced subjects in Basque, offering quality teaching.
You can take this complementary course entirely in Basque, delivered jointly by Basque Academy of Law - Zuzenbidearen Euskal Akademia, the Real Sociedad Bascongada de Amigos del País and the Biscay Bar Association.
In addition to having Basque teachers, textbooks, legal texts, dictionaries and other resources have been developed.
Students will be required to prepare a research project, present it and defend it in public. The project should be related to at least two branches of Law. Successful completion will prove that students are capable of applying their knowledge.
Law Degree - Final Year Project guidelines
