Internships are an essential part of the degree as they allow you to familiarise yourself with patient care, the healthcare environment and the processes involved in your future profession. The degree comprises 92 internship ECTS credits , which are carried out from the first year onwards.
This is the usual employment option for nursing students. They work in hospitals, clinics... both public and private. In addition, they can specialise according to their area of interest (paediatric nursing, geriatric nursing, etc.).
Nursing professionals also work in child care centres, elderly care centres, centres for people with disabilities, etc. in both the public and private sectors. Thus, nurses provide professional care to individuals, families and the community.
If you like teaching, there is always the possibility of training other professionalswho need to know about your skills (in the university degree, in related master's degrees...).
When you finish your Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, you can pursue a PhD degree and choose to develop research studies to improve the techniques and processes of this profession.
