This official Joint Master’s programme is of a qualifying nature. It aims, on the one hand, to cover the current legislative need to pursue the Master’s degree in General Health Psychology to be able to practise the profession of psychologist in the health sector and, on the other, to complement this recognition with a specialisation in Neuropsychology, which is currently a booming field in the world of psychology.

It is the prerequisite for opening a psychology centre.
Neuropsychology is a science applied to the study of the relationship between brain and behaviour. The practice of Clinical Neuropsychology requires specific technical postgraduate training and supervised practice of excellence. Clinical Neuropsychology has developed to such an extent in our country that the demand for professionals with this degree is increasing.

Students will benefit from the extensive teaching and research experience of the Faculty of Psychology and Education in the field of health, as well as from a R+D+i Unit in Psychology and Health, which addresses clinical intervention in liaison with internationally consolidated research areas and teams.

The University of Deusto has amply demonstrated its commitment to Neuropsychology training since the early 1990s. In 1999, the Bachelor's degree in Psychology incorporated a pathway with 9 subjects directly related to this area, which is one of the most popular among students.
In addition, between 2010/11 and 2014/15 the University of Deusto offered specific training in the field of Neuropsychology through the Expert in Neuropsychology.

Since 2015/16 , the University of Deusto has been offering the Master's Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology (the syllabus has been verified by the Council of Universities, following a positive report from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation, and the degree has been declared official by the Council of Ministers' Agreement of 17 April 2015).

The two master's degrees have always been connected throughout the Faculty’s history before the joint programme was launched. Proof of this is that the Master's degree in Mental Health and Psychological Therapies, replaced in the 2014/15 academic year by the Master's degree in General Health Psychology, already included theoretical and practical modules taught by specialists in the field of gerontology.
You must have adegree in Psychology.
As approved at the REACU meeting held on 15 January 2020 on the conditions of access to the master's degree in general health psychology after the incorporation of the specialism in health psychology to the curricula of the degree in psychology according to the order cnu/1309/2018, it is decided that Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and the Licenciado en Psicología degree issued in Spain prior to the order CNU/1309/2018, have the necessary requirements for access to the Master's degree in General Health Psychology. Therefore, the holders of these degrees cannot be excluded from the selection processes, nor do they require additional courses.
Having a B2 certificate in English will be an asset (graduates in Psychology from the University of Deusto are exempt from submitting it).
In your learning, you will have the Deusto Psych Unit available to you. This R&D&I Unit in Psychology and Health is equipped with the latest technology in psychophysiological instruments, virtual reality, assessment and psychodiagnosis, rehabilitation, and has large spaces and facilities.
