    From basics to external internships

The course syllabus perfectly combines the two language profiles, starting in 1st year with competences related to the three languages and continuing in 2nd year with subjects more specific to the two degrees.

    null

    Years 1, 2 and 3

You will work on communication skills in three languages: Basque, English and Spanish, and the basic instrumental skills necessary for the contrastive study of languages and literature.

    null

    Up to Year 3

You will combine specific subjects from each degree programme with training in a second foreign language (French, German, Chinese or Arabic).

    null

    Year 4

You will focus on the study of Basque language and literature applied to professional fields. You will put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the previous courses, and you will do so during the internship in companies or institutions. You will also write a research paper on some aspect related to the Basque language or culture.

    null

    Year 5

You will work on the skills you need to become an expert in the English language through the specialism in English Studies. You will be able to do practical work in this field, and you will write your final degree project on some aspect of English language or literature, or even relating these to Basque language or literature.

    As for languages...

The 240 ECTS credits of the Bachelor’s degree programme are divided into core, compulsory and elective subjects, internships and the Undergraduate Final Year Project. These subjects are offered in Spanish, English and Basque. In addition to classes in each language, you can choose subjects taught in English and Basque.

The curriculum shows the language of instruction for each subject.

Level required to access the degree

    • Spanish and Basque: B2
    • English language: B1

Level attained at the end of studies

    • Spanish, Basque and English: C1-C2
    • The final level of the fourth language (German, French, Chinese or Arabic) will depend on the chosen language and will be between A2 and B1.

    DISCOVER ANOTHER UNIVERSITY

OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE WORLD...

Internationalisation, multidisciplinarity and multilingualism are three key pillars for the professionals of the future, which is why, in your 5th year of study, you will have the opportunity to complete your training at another international university.

We are part of a network of more than 200 Jesuit universities worldwide. The International Association of Jesuit Universities, established in July 2018, reinforces this union. Deusto stands out for its extensive experience in international exchange programmes and this experience has allowed us to establish relationships with international universities and select the most interesting ones.

At the host university you will take subjects previously agreed with your tutor at Deusto. During your international stay, we closely supervise each student from the University of Deusto. We have an international department that will help and support you throughout the whole process.

The experience of living and studying in a foreign country will enable you to learn about other customs and will also give you the opportunity to:

    - Open your mind to different cultures
    - Strengthen social skills
    - Develop language skills
    - Be flexible and adapt to new situations

The exchange would be carried out with one of the following universities. See current calls for applications.
