The agreement supports the Family Business Immersion Program (PIEF), which is part of the Family Business Chair of the Antonio Aranzabal Foundation and Deusto Business School. Its objective is to attract young talent to family businesses in Gipuzkoa and increase their visibility among university students, offering them an appealing alternative for high-quality training and future employment. In doing so, the program aims to retain both well-established business projects and talent, preventing the loss of skilled young professionals and innovative ventures.

The program consists of three phases: training sessions led by experts, presentations of projects from family businesses in Gipuzkoa, and an individual practical immersion averaging 150 hours per student in local family businesses. To facilitate the program’s implementation, a budget of up to €25,000 has been allocated. During its third edition last year, 15 companies and 17 students from the Donostia campus of Deusto Business School participated.

300 Hours of Internships

The agreement will allow medical students to undertake international internships in non-EU countries, with a particular focus on Latin America. This international mobility program, aimed at approximately 40 students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, includes 300 hours of curricular internships, conducted between March and May in the fourth year of studies, along with a financial aid package of up to €1,000 per student.

Through this internship experience, the University of Deusto seeks to provide medical students with a broader perspective on their profession, helping them develop key competencies for their future careers, such as teamwork, solidarity, and attention to diversity, among others.

With this collaboration, Rural Kutxa reaffirms its role as a local and community-oriented financial institution, strongly committed to the sustainable progress of the region. This commitment is reflected in its various social initiatives in areas such as Health, Education, Entrepreneurship, and the Environment.
