University Art Workshop Exhibition on Dialogue between Faith and Culture

The University Art Workshop entitled "Diálogo entre Fe y Cultura / Fedearen eta Kulturaren arteko Elkarrizketa", was jointly organised by the University of Deusto -San Sebastian and the "Respeto" and "Moraza" Foundations. The aim of this workshop was to introduce and foster, among its participating members, the artistic expression and the creation of works of art that were "Symbols of Respect" and "Expressions of the relationship between Faith and Culture".

This workshop took place on 22, 23, 29 and 30 March 2006. It was aimed at all those Lecturers, Students, Administrative and service staff at the University, as well as to all those interested in learning the tecniques used to express personal experiences arising from the Dialogue between Faith and Culture.

Booking and acquisition of Works of Art:

Each participant in the workshop collaborated in the creation of 6 or 7 works of art. The University itself has acquired a number of works of art for its own collection, and following the voting of the artists themselves:

As to the remaining works, each of the participants will be eligible to opt for the acquisition of one work of art for 30 euros. All these works presented during the 1st Art Workshop were aimed at creating signs and symbols of respect. This was shown in different languages: Respeto (Spanish), Respecte (Catalan), Respecto (Galician), Respeito (Portuguese), Respekt (Swedish), Respect (English), Respeck (Dutch), Respekt (German), Kunnioitus (Finnish), Respekt (Czech), Rispetto (Italian), Pecnent (Bulgarian), Respekt (Danish), Ybahhehne (uva (sh)éniye) Russian, Ciena ((ts)ieña) Latvian; Begirunea (Basque).
