This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Erasmus Mundus program, a pioneering initiative that promotes the joint delivery of master's programs in collaboration with international partners, aiming to attract the best talents from around the world to Europe.

In a recent publication celebrating this anniversary, the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree Programme in International Humanitarian Action was identified as one of the five oldest Erasmus Mundus programmes that are still running today.

In recognition of its outstanding contribution to the success of the Erasmus Mundus program, the European Commission awarded this master's program during the conference "Beyond Borders and Boundaries: 20 years of Erasmus Mundus," held on May 27-28, 2024, in Brussels. Cristina Churruca, professor at the University of Deusto and coordinator of the program, received the award during the ceremony.
