 LABPSYCHO AND PSYCHOLINGUISTICS

• It aims to study the mechanisms by which people discover causal relationships in the environment. They are currently applying this research in the development of strategies to reduce pseudoscience and superstition in the population. Principal Investigator Dr. Helena Matute. NEUROPSYCHOLOGY OF PSYCHIATRIC AND NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS

• Research objectives include: identifying possible endophenotype features that could guide the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and different diagnostic subgroups, including: cognitive and clinical profiles, genotypes, and neuroanatomical bases; development of effective treatment programmes and experimental testing of evidence of efficacy; adaptation and standardisation of diagnostic and evaluative tools.

It analyses the moderating role of cognitive styles in the symptoms of stress and psychological maladjustment (anxiety, depression, violent behaviour, etc.). It focuses on the development of cognitive style assessment instruments applied to various populations, as well asstress intervention programmes adapted to various groups; victims of violence, professionals, adolescents, etc.

 ASSESSMENT AND INTERVENTION WITH FAMILIES AND MINORS.

• This research area focuses on the analysis of the mechanisms that link family functioning and the well-being and psychological adjustment of all members, minors or adults, both in crisis situations and in the development of different problems (interparental conflict, parental conflict and parenting, attachment, adoption, foster care, drug addiction, adoption,…). Principal investigator: Dr. Ana Martínez Pampliega Professor of Psychology

ASSESSMENT, CLINICS AND HEALTH

• It analyses the theoretical and conceptual bases, methodological strategies and intervention techniques of the differentpsychotherapeutic models used to address individuals’ psychological problems. It focuses on establishing theefficiency/effectiveness levels of psychological interventionand their limitations. The aim is to identify the components that determinesuccessful therapyand the best way to combine these components to improve psychotherapeutic interventions according to specific disorders or clients who meet the profile set for a certain therapeutic model. Principal investigator: Dr. Joseba Iraurgi. This area focuses on activities related to the creation, development and validation of psychosocial assessment and intervention programmes for people affected byneuromuscular diseases, rare diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as for their families. Theuse of technologiessuch as the Internet and Virtual Reality has enabled us to developtools to improve these persons’ quality of life, from the psychosocial perspective.
