    Internships enable student to acquire skills and capacities in real-world scenarios which are closely related to their future career. As your first work experience, they will help you to enrich your CV and increase your job prospects.

    MANAGED BY THE UNIVERSITY ITSELF

    The 30 ECTS credits offered as electives in fourth year include the option to earn 6 ECTS by doing an internship in a professional setting.

    Individual monitoring of the students’ progress

    Two tutors (one from the host organisation and a university tutor) supervise students’ progress throughout the internship and report on their progress.

    Various types of companies and institutions require professionals with expertise in international issues to assist in understanding and effectively managing global processes and challenges.

    The double degree in International Relations + Law affords you the opportunity to combine these two complementary profiles in a single educational track; an excellent legal background and global knowledge of social dynamics , opening up a wide range of interesting job opportunities.

    • Law practice (with the official Master's degree required to practise the legal profession) and all areas of criminal, civil, administrative, town planning, bioethics, environmental, sports law, information technology, etc., as well as tax and commercial consultancy, among others. 
    • Together with the more business-relatedprofiles: Quality control, Accounting, Consultancy, Human Resources, Health and Safety…
    • The public sector: Foreign Service, intergovernmental organisations, information analysis and national intelligence services ...

    • Foreign Service at all levels of government: Cabinets of local and regional governments, diplomatic and consular missions, representations in international organisations, international outreach agencies.
    • Officials, consultants and legal experts in regional international organisations (European Union, Council of Europe, NATO, OECD, OSCE, ASEAN, African Union, OAS, Ibero-American General Secretariat…), in global international organisations (UN; UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDP, UNHCR…, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organisation)

    The private sector:

    • Specialist advisors on international business and legal security for multinational companies, chambers of commerce and social entities with interests abroad.
    • Lawyers at firms international consultancies, international public and private law, tax law, tenders, etc.
    • Advisors, coordinators or directors in the legal areas of non-governmental organisations for international cooperation and advice (technicians or directors in international NGOs, in international cooperation programmes, consultants or advisors on international politics or economics, managers of international projects and programmes…)

    Every year, leading Spanish and international firms select candidates among students in their last years of study at our campus.

    The Deusto Alumni Association also assists graduates in entering the job market, offering them guidance and legal advice on employment. Thanks to this association, we can assist you in developing your entrepreneurial spirit and, if you require so, we will help you implement your business ideas.

    Furthermore, we hold the Employment Forum every year, a space where you can contact companies, hand in your CV, attend presentations, seminars and workshops and even take part in selection processes.
