Have you heard of smart factories or Industry 4.0? The 4th industrial revolution is here, with the introduction of digital technologies in industry and the need for new automation systems. Would you like to lead this transformation?
The combination of the industrial and IT fields creates a dual profile that is in great demand in Industry 4.0. Computer science is thus being incorporated into smart factories, positioning software as a key tool for data analysis, enabling its transformation into useful information for improving productivity and industrial competitiveness.
This multidisciplinary approach brings together experience in process automation and industrial electronics and the ability to develop software for production planning and knowledge of data analysis and artificial intelligence. All this provides the basis for the new, smarter and more flexible industry, capable of mass production but with a high capacity for product customisation.
This double degree, offered only at the University of Deusto, responds directly to a demand from industry that requires professionals with this dual approach to the world of industry from the physical and digital perspectives. The aim is to undertake a process of adaptation to Industry 4.0, necessary to maintain competitiveness in a world undergoing a process of global digitisation.
This course incorporates IT into the smart factory ecosystem, thus preparing for Industry 4.0.
This programme will qualify you to work as an industrial engineer/technician and give you access to the Master's Degree in Automation, Electronics and Industrial Control.
Internships for all our students. Agreements with more than 125 companies in the engineering sector.
93% of students are very or fairly satisfied with their engineering studies and 8 out of 10 students recommend the University of Deusto

If you are interested in the degrees and double degrees at the University of Deusto, don't miss the open day we have organised.
On Saturday 11 February you can come to the campus and get all the information you need to help you choose your degree.
Double degrees are offered in response to the need for new professional profiles that require a range of multidisciplinary competences. The graduate profile matches the needs of conventional industry to bring the potential of Industry 4.0 from theory to practice.
Moreover, this double degree is the perfect example of two degrees that add value to each other. In a world where programmable devices lead the way in industrial electronics, studying computer science and mastering programming will make you a better electronics engineer. Likewise, the in-depth knowledge of computer hardware that you will acquire on your electronics degree will provide you with great advantages in your career as a computer engineer.
This double degree gives you access to the Master's Degree in Automation, Electronics and Industrial Control, the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering (with additional courses) and the Master's Degree in Computer Engineering to improve your professional skills in one or other field.
Furthermore, the advanced knowledge in electronics and computer science that you will gain in this double degree will allow you to study highly specialised master's degrees in new technologies such as intelligent robotics, distributed computing, artificial intelligence, etc., both in Spain and abroad.
Exceptional hands-on training is achieved in the laboratories, where you will have the opportunity to experiment with hardware equipment provided by leading manufacturers in the industrial sector. New laboratories such as the collaborative and industrial robotics laboratory or the digital manufacturing laboratory, which integrates a fully automated continuous production process, will allow you to experiment with the latest technologies that make up the Industry 4.0 paradigm.
Software also becomes a key tool for data analysis, enabling its conversion into useful information for improving productivity and industrial competitiveness.
