About the Master’s degree

The overall aim of the Master's degree is to enable students to apply the group-analytical technique in different fields: health, mental health, social intervention, education and organisations. All of this while gaining an in-depth knowledge of the theoretical foundations of group models and approaches, discussing their work in groups and experiencing first-hand the nature of group-analytical phenomena and dynamics.

Joint Programme

A Master’s degree offered by the University of Deusto, the Psychiatry Service at Basurto University Hospital and the Basque Foundation for Mental Health Research OMIE..

An accredited Master’s degree

Accredited by the SEPTG (Spanish Society of Psychotherapy and Group Techniques) and by the APAG (Association for Group Analytic Psychotherapy).

Advanced training

Professionals who complete this Master's degree will acquire highly specialised skills with a strong focus on group therapytechniques.

Combine work and study

The course syllamus is divided into 4 subjects and 13 subjects. As it is taught at weekends, you can combine the master's degree with your professional activity.

Sólida trayectoria

La Fundación OMIE es pionera en la promoción de recursos terapéuticos comunitarios y reafirma así una trayectoria consolidada a través de más de cuarenta años dedicada a formar especialistas en el área específica de la Psicoterapia Grupal.

En el desarrollo de esta tarea colabora como miembro de EGATIN (Red Europea de Institutos de Formación en Grupoanálisis).

Un enfoque en crecimiento

La utilización de técnicas y enfoques grupales con fines psicoterapéuticos se encuentra hoy ampliamente extendida y afianzada. Ha demostrado ser un valioso instrumento para la comprensión de las dinámicas interpersonales, para mejorar sustancialmente los resultados de la asistencia psicoterapéutica en general, y también como forma de comprender las dinámicas institucionales y el modo de cómo estas afectan al desarrollo de los procesos psicoterapéuticos.

Gran proyección

Diversas administraciones nacionales e internacionales siguen trabajando hoy en la promoción de programas de intervención que incluyen fórmulas grupales.

Estas se presentan como decisivas a la hora de entender y resolver problemas relacionales, así como aliviar el trabajo asistencial.

Trabajo en grupo

El objetivo del programa de aplicar la técnica grupo-analítica y de conducir grupos se logra con el imprescindible conocimiento de las emociones propias y su repercusión en las relaciones humanas. Así, todo ello se trabajará durante los 3 años del máster en los grupos experienciales, constituyendo un verdadero proceso terapéutico para el alumnado.

Este Máster se desarrollará a lo largo de tres cursos como un plan de formación en el trabajo grupal orientado a la asistencia psicoterapéutica.

Course fees and Grants

Requirements for admission to the Master's Degree in Group Analytical Psychotherapy:

Have acquired first-cycle generic competences.
Have acquired the specific competences related to a diploma, degree or bachelor's degree in health sciences or social and human sciences. This also includes those competences related to group work.
Submit a short CV and have a personal interview with a member of management team.

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration must be done by filling in a form to be collected and handed in at the OMIE Foundation's office (it can also be sent by email). Applications will be provisional until the personal interview has taken place and you have received a final notification of admission.

The course fees are €3,400 per academic year.
A payment of €1,200must be made upon enrolment, and the following payments will be made from October to July, for an amount of 220€ each.
Both pre-enrolment and enrolment will take place at OMIE's offices.

A number of grants are available for the first and second years, the application and awarding of which will be processed through the OMIE Foundation’s office. For further information, please contact OMIE’s office.
