On International Migrants' Day and within the framework of the Basque Social Forum for Migration, the Basque government recognises five initiatives in Bilbao for their good practices in the integration of migrants in Basque society. These include the Religious Diversity Participation Board. Created in 2012 with the collaboration of the University of Deusto's Human Rights Institute and the Ignacio Ellacuria Social Foundation, this forum is a space for reflecting on and promoting actions aimed at encouraging the exercise of freedom of conscience and religion, in a context of citizen coexistence in diversity and human rights defence.
