Head of the programme Talentum de Telefónica, Rosalía O’Donnel, gave the talk opening at the new cycle of Deusto Business School's Corporate Entrepreneurship Club, which is held monthly at DBS Madrid.

Introduced by the DBS Director in Madrid, Iñaki Ortega, and the Director of the Master's degree in Business Innovation, Francisco González Bree, Rosalía O'Donnell shared Talentum Labs’ open innovation model which is set within Telefónica's young talent drive platform called Talentum.

O'Donnell explained that Talentum Labs is not only an open innovation product but an innovation lever that makes it possible to break through resistance to change which innovation structures often encounter in their own organisations.

Head of Talentum and expert in digital transformation, she stated that Talentum Labs are innovation cells formed by youth recruited through a grants programme. This enables them to capture new generation talent to develop real digital transformation projects.

Rosalía O'Donnell defined these new generations' characteristics, especially the Zs, as very pragmatic. In her opinion, these first digital natives, children of the crisis, are bound to be the future digital leaders “because they have grown up with a pragmatic attitude, in addition to their competences”, she stated.

These young people are called to tackle big challenges through competitions, networking meetings, project presentations or hackathons, among other activities.

Talentum awards different types of grants through the SEPI Foundation, with the help of mentors.

Deusto Business School’s Corporate Entrepreneurship Club has hosted speakers from BBVA, Telefónica, Sacyr, 3M or IBM, among others.
