The graduation dinner for students finishing their degrees in Law and Specialism in Economics was held at the Carlton Hotel in Bilbao at 9 pm on Saturday, 12 April. Izaskun Bilbao was the guest of honour.
Members of the Dean of Law's team were present at the gala dinner. Inmaculada Herbosa, Vice-Dean of Academic Organisation, Marian Aláez, Student Affairs and Identity and Mission, and numerous faculty members was attending.
Over 200 people from the Law Faculty was attending the gala dinner.
Activities programmed for the event included a short speech by Izaskun Bilbao following the welcome cocktail immediately before dinner. Student delegate Iñigo Bilbao announced that the festivities will continue following the dinner at the Memorial, in Ibáñez de Bilbao.
Izaskun Bilbao Barandica was born in Bermeo. She was president of the Basque Parliament from 2005 to 2009, deputy since 1998 and EU Parliament member since 2009.
Recently deceased former mayor of Bilbao, Iñaki Azkuna, was guest of honour at last year’s dinner.
