The Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, met last November 8 with the Orkestra team to learn about the main lines of research developed by the institute and aimed at improving competitiveness and welfare in the Basque Country.
Orkestra was represented by its president, Iván Martén; the general director, Mari Jose Aranguren, and Susana Franco, senior researcher at the institute. Mikel Iriondo, Secretary General of Coordination and Social Communication of Lehendakaritza, also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Lehendakari and his team were able to learn about the projects on which the Institute is currently working with various public and private entities. These projects cover strategic areas for the development of the Basque Country such as energy transition, digitalization or the challenge of talent.
In addition, the Orkestra team shared some preliminary conclusions of the Basque Country Competitiveness Report 2024, whose official presentation will take place next Novembrer 20 in Vitoria-Gasteiz. This annual report has established itself as a benchmark in the analysis of regional competitiveness and this year explores inclusion as a driver of competitiveness and welfare.
