Two groups of Deusto Business School students reach the finals in the Blue BBVA Challenge Bilbao

Two groups of Deusto Business School students won the Blue BBVA Challenge Bilbao on 2 December. There were over 200 participants and 80 different projects.

Final BBVA Blue ChallengeThe 2017 Blue BBVA Challenge is a contest organised by the BBVA and is based on entrepreneurship, innovation and creation of start-ups that help to change the world. Over 80 teams (200 people) took part but only 4 projects reached the semifinals. One of them, formed by DBS students, was the leader in this stage in Bilbao. A second group, also from DBS, also managed to reach the semifinals.

César Claver (3rd yr. Business Administration + Law), Daniel Zamora (3rd yr. Business Administration + Law), Sofía Burguillo (3rd yr. Business Administration + Industrial Technology Engineering), Diego Castresana (4th yr. Business Administration + Industrial Technology Engineering) and Víctor Chicharro (5th yr. Business Administration + Industrial Technology Engineering) formed the first group. Four first year students from Business Administration + Industrial Technology Engineering formed the second group: Ignacio Arriola, Daniel Irezabal, Ignacio Marcos and Miguel Monreal.

Four additional groups were selected in Madrid on 16 December and four winning groups for the online platform will be selected in January. These 12 teams will compete in Madrid in March, and six will be shortlisted for the finals. The prize for the 6 finalist teams is a three-week volunteering trip to anywhere in the world in addition to accelerating and incubating their project.
