As part of the International Day of the Girl celebrations on 11 October, the University of Deusto launched a video made by the team of the "Vaya Semanita" TV programme. The objective is to raise awareness in the society, through humor, on the effect of gender bias on girls. The video is entitled "We inspire every girl to choose what she wants to be", since many girls do not rule out certain professions because they cannot or do not want to, but it is their environment that encourages them not to try these professions. You can watch the video here.

This is a video of the Faculty of Engineering and is sponsored by Iberdrola. It coincides with the second edition of the INSPIRA project. The project involves more than 1,300 girls, 1,300 boys, 130 mentors and 47 schools. INSPIRA is a pioneering initiative in Euskadi aiming to promote the scientific-technological vocation among girls. The project is based on awareness-raising and guidance actions carried out by professional women from the worlds of research, science and technology. INSPIRA is a University of Deusto project and is implemented in collaboration with Elhuyar Fundazioa and Innobasque. It counts with the support of the three Provincial Councils: Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Álava.

To celebrate Ada Lovelace Day, #MandaTuPalmADA

On 10 October, the University of Deusto has also joined the Ada Lovelace Day - an International Day celebrating women’s achievements in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). With the Ada Byron Award, the University of Deusto uses Ada Byron’s experience as an example to promote the scientific-technological vocations among girls and to give visibility to excellent women technologists. As a result, and with the support of Muxote Potolo Bat, a social networks campaign has been created, aiming to encourage the sharing of a "palmAda" to all those girls whose environment dictates what they should be when they get older.
