Ruth Carbajo García is chemistry graduate, with an MA in physical chemistry and a European PhD on engineering, energy, and IT technologies. The topic of her thesis, cum laudem, was Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) European research policy applied to innovation and policy performance in the case of energy transitions. Its research experience covers the study of governance models in the context of energetic, digital, or social transformations and she have explored the application of alternative models under the umbrella of sociotechnical change and transformative change applied to advanced energy research and applications , developing strategies and pilot proposals for the integration of gender, open science, ethics, governance, engagement , science education and contextualize open innovation , social sustainability, social justice, resilience, and anticipatory governance approaches, as well as the reformulation of awareness towards participation for renewable energy technologies and applications. Ruth is currently participating in several EU funded projects and RETOS from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. She is part of the Ethics of technology research line hosted by the Centre of Ethics of the University of Deusto. She has published her research in several high-level journals (Q1, Q2), contributed as reviewer for several international journals and as an advisor in the topic of responsible innovation and energy transitions. Ruth is also engaged in teaching and teaching innovation activities covering the field of ethics of technologies, ethics of digital industries, thermal energy storage and responsible research and innovation for engineering dual programs and International Doctoral programs. Besides, has developed a professional career with several years’ experience as a project manager (4 years) and outreach manager (6 years) in Spain and Chile focused on the areas of: • Knowledge, strategic initiatives, and project management. I have proven experience working on international and national multi-partner projects, on topics of solar energy, thermal energy storage technologies and strategic materials value-chain valorisations. • Outreach and education management, science communication and STEM education consultancy for universities, museums, and primary and secondary education institutions and as a consultant on STEM education, launching education projects such as citizen science and science shops pilots.
