juliandavid.bermeo@deusto.esJulian David Bermeo Osorio holds a bachelor in Politic Sciences and completed a MA in Development Studies with a specialization in Conflict and Peace Studies at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague. He is interested in how educational stakeholders respond to past violence in the present under transitional settings. His master's research was on the frames teachers and students invoke to make sense of their remembering initiatives regarding the Colombian armed conflict. In the past, Julian has designed and implemented public interventions on human rights education and peacebuilding. At the Memory Peace and Reconciliation Centre (CMPR) in Bogotá, he led the pedagogical design of a multi-sensorial exhibition about the impacts of the armed conflict in Bogota. More recently, at the Colombian Truth Commission, his investigation was how children and adolescents experienced armed conflict violence inside schools and the learning environments. Currently, he is a researcher assistant fellow at the Centre of Applied Ethics (CEA), at Deusto University, in Bilbao, Spain, where he is doing his predoctoral training while developing a research project on learning and memory-making within schools and museums.
