Alejandro received his MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of The Basque Country in 2010. He then joined one of the leading Service Companies in the Basque Country. In 2012 he decided to change his career path and started a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Industrial Engineering. He received his MSc in 2016 and his PhD in 2017. During his writing period at the University of Strathclyde he started working as a Research Fellow at the Chemical and Process Engineering School, University of Leeds with Prof. Mojtaba Ghadiri. His PhD studies the influence of the geometrical changes on the fluid flow due to erosion processes with CFD. At Leeds University he has been working on different projects both experimentally as well as computationally with CFD and DEM. Some of the research topics include erosion, Additive Manufacturing, Powder Flow, Particle Breakage and Energy Utilisation for Chariot and ADDoPT projects amongst others. In September 2018 he was offered a Lectureship at the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain) in the Applied Mechanics department where he teaches Fluid Mechanics, and Computational Mechanics. His research focuses on CFD and DEM simulations of Erosion, Multiphase flows, Additive Manufacturing, Powder Flow and Particulate processes.
