José Antonio Marín is a Lecturer at the University of Deusto. He holds a PhD in Philosophy and Arts (History) from the University of Deusto. He also holds a Diploma in University Teaching and a BA in Geography and History, both from the University of Deusto. He lectures on the BA in Communication where he teaches Social and Cultural Anthropology, History of Communication, Challenges and dilemmas of society through the media II and Use and Social Impact of ICTs. He also lectures in Social and Cultural Anthropology on the BA in Social work (San Sebastian campus). His research focuses on the analysis of sociability in the Basque country during medieval and modern times, to study the formation and structuring of links and areas of social relationships built by individuals through their representations and practices. He particularly focuses on the methodology and techniques that relate language, discourse, and action in the historical past and its effects on the contemporary world. Between 2007 and 2013 he was a member of the Innova research team (R2010), recognized by the Basque Government with category A. Between 1994 and 2014 he performed a number of academic management tasks at the Faculties of Arts, Humanities and the Social and Human Sciences at the University of Deusto
