Macarena Cuenca holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Leisure and Human Development, University of Deusto. She is a lecturer at Deusto Business School in Bilbao on Bachelor's and postgraduate degree programmes where she teaches strategy and business organisation-related subjects. Prof. Cuenca is a member of the Institute of Leisure Studies research team where she takes part in several Spanish and European projects. Her focus area is cultural audience development. She lectures on this specialist field in the PhD degree programme Leisure, Culture and Communication for Human Development and has supervised several PhD theses. Prof. Cuenca has given papers at numerous congresses and is the author of articles published in indexed specialist journals such as the following: Academia. Revista Latinoamericana de Administracion, Annals of Leisure Research, ARBOR. Ciencia, pensamiento y cultura, Cuadernos de gestión, International Review of Social Research or Revista de psicología del deporte, among others.
