She holds a BA and a PhD in Law from the University of Deusto. She currently works as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Deusto in Bilbao and San Sebastian. She teaches International Organizations in Spanish and Basque and European Union Law in Spanish, both of them at undergraduate level (BA in Law and Double BA in Law and Business Administration). At postgraduate level, she teaches Political Construction of Europe II (EU Foreign Policy) and EU in the Wider World (Relations with Latin America) in the MA programme in Euroculture (Erasmus Mundus), in English. She has numerous publications on issues related to European Union politics and institutions. Her most recent research has focused on EU defence, climate and migration policies. Particular attention is paid to the legal framework, policy-making and implementation processes, as well as democratic accountability, with emphasis on EU compliance with human rights standards. Other research focus areas include Europeanization and multilevel governance. She is a member of the "Public Power and the Corporate in a transnational environment" research team, which has received recognition from the Basque Government.
