LEIRE ALCAÑIZ holds a PhD in Advanced Management from the University of Deusto. She is currently Associate professor at the University of Deusto, where she teaches at the Bilbao campus. She teaches BA courses in Business Administration and Management and Auditing and European and International Business Management Masters' degree courses. Specifically, she teaches the following BA subjects: Accounting (Basque and Spanish) and Financial and Corporate Accounting (English and Spanish), and the following post-graduate subjects: Introduction to Accounting, Financial and Corporate Accouting and Sectorial Accounting. Her publications mainly focus on intellectual capital; specifically, intangible assets accounting, intellectual capital reporting and initial public offerings. She forms part of the Finance research group.
