Jabier Martínez holds a PhD in Economics and Business Administration (Business Competitiveness and Economic Development) from the University of Deusto and a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Economics (Economic Analysis and Public Economy) from the University of the Basque Country. He is a lecturer on the undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Industrial Technical Engineering and Business Administration and Law at the University of Deusto in Bilbao. He teaches the following subjects: Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. He is also a member of the Executive Team of the Provincial Administration of the Society of Jesus, where he is responsible for the financial area. His research focuses on the analysis of public policies and their relationship with sustainability and growth. He has written monographs on the economic impact of taxes and public expenditure. He also works on the contribution of Christian social doctrine to the economic field and on the various aspects of applied economics and the study of inequality and precariousness. He has published his work both in national specialist journals (Papeles de Economía, Hacienda Pública Española, Ekonomiaz…) and, to a lesser extent, in international journals (Asian Pacific Journal of Business Administration …). He is a member of the ““Estudio multidisciplinar de la condición precaria del arte y los artistas contemporáneos”research team, based on the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UPV-EHU and it is financed by "Programa Competitivo Estatal de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación orientada a los Retos de la Sociedad" MINECO's program (HAR 2016-77767-R).
