He holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of the Basque Country. For 20 years he developed his professional activity in the industrial field, mainly in the environmental and occupational health areas. During this time, he published numerous research papers and patents, especially in the field of water treatment. Professor of Civic and Professional Ethics at the University of Deusto, he is Vice-Dean of Faculty and Director of the Department of Social and Human Sciences. He is also a member of the Applied Ethics Centre of this same university, responsible for the Transfer Line. He is the author of numerous articles and presentations on topics related to corporate social responsibility, economic ethics, solidarity economy and organizational ethics, as well as the books “La empresa a contracorriente: cuestiones de ética empresarial”, “Responsabilidad Social Universitaria: manual de primeros pasos”, “Banca Ética y Ciudadanía”, “La perspectiva Ética”, "Ethical finance and Prosperity", "Fundamentos de ética empresarial" and "La deliberación ética en la empresa". Since May 2013, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Banca Popolare Etica Credit Cooperative, and has held the Vice-Presidency from May 2019 to May 2023. From 2013 to 2017, he was a member of the Confederal Council of the Spanish Network of Alternative and Solidarity Economy (Reas). Since May 2017, he has been the President of the European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks (www.febea.org).
