She holds a BA in Computer Science from the University of Deusto and a PhD from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Basque Country. She is currently Professor at the University of Deusto, where she teaches at the Bilbao campus. She teaches BA courses on Industrial Technology Engineering, Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, Industrial Organisation Engineering and Computer Engineering. Specifically, she teaches the following subjects: Business Administration, Production Management (English and Spanish) and Logistics.Her publications mainly focus on Production Planning, Urban Logistics, Recycling and Colaboration in the Supply Chain. During the past few years she has carried out research on integrated approaches for production and distribution.Esther Álvarez is head of the Industrial Organisation and Logistics research team. Other research interests include Sustainable Supply Chain.
