Igor is a physiotherapist with extensive experience and extensive training in different postgraduate courses, with special interest in the treatment of lower limb tendinopathies. He is the clinical director of Igor Sancho Fisiotherapy, where he treats both recreational and elite athletes, as well as more sedentary people with lower limb tendinopathies. He is a researcher and lecturer on the Physiotherapy and Physiotherapy + CAFYD degrees at the University of Deusto. He holds a PhD from Queen Mary University of London. His thesis aimed to identify new strategies to improve the outcomes of treatment of Achilles tendinopathy in amateur runners. He is the author of several scientific publications in first and second quartile journals. He is part of the International Achilles Tendinopathy Consensus Group which aims to improve standards of research into the condition by developing consensus for outcome and diagnostic measures. He has worked for the Spanish Rugby Federation, the Gipuzkoa Basket Club and various professional athletes.
