Xabier Mendizabal Leiñena is a PhD in the Doctoral Program of Business Management, Knowledge and Innovation from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU, Spanish Basque Country) and also holds a Masters Degree in Finance and Financial Management as well as a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU, Spanish Basque Country). Xabier Mendizabal Leiñena is currently a PhD lecturer at the Deusto Business School (DBS) of the University of Deusto. He teaches since 2020 as a member of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the DBS, in subjects of both areas within the initial courses of the degree of Business Administration and Management of the DBS. In this sense, he has participated in the teaching of the Inclusive Finance Innovation Module conceived and designed in the IFI (Innovative Financial Inclusion) project, funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, in the subject “Tools for Financial Mathematics”. In the same way, he has acted as academic tutor of several groups of different degrees offered by DBS, and has also acted as individual academic tutor of students in company internships. In the year 2024, he was appointed director of the “ESG Investment and Finance Summer Programme 2024” where he teaches and carries out organizational aspects such as the selection of speakers and the schedule organization. He is also a researcher in the research groups HUME of the University of Deusto and ECRI of the University of Deusto and the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, which work on the analysis of stakeholder value creation by companies and the creation of ethical value in finance. He is also a member of the non-profit association EBEN España - “Ética, Economía y Dirección. Asociación Española de Ética de la Economía y de las Organizaciones (EBEN-España)", from June 2023 to June 2024, which aims to promote the study and application of ethics in organizations, business and economics.
