Doctor in Medicine and Surgery. Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology, University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU. He has taught courses on the Iberoamerican Master’s in Drug Dependencies and the Master’s degrees in Drug Dependencies at the Universities of Deusto and Valladolid. He carries out research in the field of Neuropsychopharmacology and drug abuse. He has worked as a Researcher at the University of Oxford ant the Royal London Hospital. He has written more than 60 articles in international scientific journals, about a hundred papers in conferences and various book chapters. In 2001 he received the Young Researcher Award by the Spanish Drug Addiction Association. He is also a member of the CIBER in Mental Health, member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Cannabinoid Research Society and the Spanish Drug Addiction Association, and member of the Committee on Academic Organisation and PhD at the UPV/EHU.
