980 / 5.000 María Pilar Rodríguez is a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Deusto. She holds a PhD from Harvard University (Cambridge, USA). Until 2002 she was a professor at Columbia University (New York, USA). She has published extensively on literature, film, culture and gender studies (150 publications). She is the Principal Investigator of the Communication team, recognised by the Basque Government with the highest category (A). She regularly participates in evaluations of academic journals such as Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Hispanic Review or Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies. She is a member of the editorial board of several SCOPUS/WoS journals on Communication and Gender. She regularly teaches courses at North American universities and participates as an evaluator in European research projects. She has four six-year research periods recognised by the CNEAI. In 2015 she obtained the Koldo Mitxelena Chair and in 2023 the Bernardo Atxaga Chair.
