JUAN I. PAGOLA CARTE holds a BSc in Information Science from the University of the Basque Country and a PhD in Communication from the University of Deusto. He is currently Lecturer with PhD at the University of Deusto. He teaches BA courses in Communication and MA courses in Audiovisual Business and Institutional Communication Management, specifically the following subjects: Theory of Organisational Communication, Design of Communication Projects, Civil and Professional Ethics and Global Development and Migrations (on BA courses), and In-depth Study of Audiovisual, Business and Institutional Communication (on post-graduate courses). His publications mainly focus on ethics and responsibility in Communication. In recent years he has been performing a range of duties at the University of Deusto: Director of the MA in Communication, coordinator of Deusto Campus (solidarity-based, cultural, sports and faith-based activities for the university community), and coordinator of the subjects Civil and Professional Ethics, the latter two at the Donostia campus. He forms part of the Ethics Applied to Social Reality research team, recognised by both the University of Deusto (2008) and the Basque Government (2010).
