felipe.gomez@deusto.esFelipe Gómez Isa holds a BA in Law and Economics (1991) and a PhD in International Law (1997) from the University of Deusto. He is currently Professor of International Law at the University of Deusto, where he teaches at the Bilbao campus. Felipe Gómez teaches BA courses on International Law and human rights both in Spanish and in English, and MA courses on international protection of human rights and women’s rights. His publications include El derecho al desarrollo como derecho humano en el ámbito jurídico internacional (1999), Privatisation and Human Rights in the Age of Globalisation, (Intersentia, co-edited with Koen de Feyter, 2005), International Human Rights Law in a Global Context (University of Deusto, co-edited with Koen de Feyter, 2009), Rethinking Transitions. Equality and Social Justice in Societies Emerging From Conflict (Intersentia, co-edited with Gaby Oré, 2011), or “Freedom From Want from a Local Perspective: Evolution and Challenges Ahead”, in The Local Relevance of Human Rights (Cambridge University Press, edited by Koen de Feyter, Stephan Parmentier et al., 2011). He is part of the research team Social and Cultural Challenges in a Changing World, recognised under category A by the Basque Government (2013-2018).
