Asier Aranbarri is a practising lawyer. After an intense period of his life as Mayor of Azkoitia (2003-2011) and spokesperson of the Basque National Party (EAJ-PNV) at Gipuzkoa General Assembly (2003-2011), he did a Master’s in Political Integration and Economic Union in the EU at the University of the Basque Country (EHU-UPV), and then he started writing his doctoral thesis entitled “Racionalización y modernización del sistema institucional vasco” at this same university supervised by Dr. Juan Ignacio Ugartemendia. He is currently advisor of the Presidency at the Basque Government at the General Secretary of Social Transition and Agenda 2030and a lecturer in International Relations at the University of Deusto, where he teaches the subject “Gobierno, Empresa y Diplomacia”.
