Research Associate at Chatham House (London) and member of the Latin American Security Network of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Berlin). Among other positions, he has been senior advisor to the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Colombia (Bogotá, 2017-2019), director of the Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution (Oslo, 2009-2016), co-director of the think-tank FRIDE (Madrid, 2006-2008) and coordinator of peace programmes at the Ford Foundation (New York, 2003-2005). He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Human Rights Institute, University of Deusto.
