Rafael Penades is a clinical psychologist and works in the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona. Associate lecturer, Department of Psychiatry and Psychobiology, University of Barcelona. Researcher at the Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) in the field of “Biological basis of mental disorders” and is a member of Group 4 in the area of schizophrenia at the Mental Health Networking Research Centre (CIBERSAM) Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, University of Valencia; and PhD in Psychology, University of Barcelona. Master’s degree in Neurosciences, University of Maastritch; Specialist Diploma in Clinical Psychology, Ministry of Health. Certified psychotherapist (Europsy) and clinical neuropsychologist (COPC). He is currently head of neuropsychology and psychological treatments in the Schizophrenia Unit at the Clinical Hospital. His research focuses on neuropsychology, neuroimaging and psychological treatments applied to severe mental disorders.
