He has a PhD from the University of Deusto, holds a BSc in Physical Sciences (specialising in Electronics and Automation Engineering) and is an engineer in Electronics from the University of the Basque Country. He currently works as Lecturer at the University of Deusto, where he teaches at the Bilbao campus, specifically at the Faculty of Engineering.He teaches all BSc courses in Engineering, specifically teaching the following subjects: Calculus I (referred to as Calculus on some degree courses) and Calculus II and General Principles of Information Technology. He forms part of the eVIDA research team and his scientific publications mainly focus on the Biomedical Signal Digital Process and New Technologies in the Service of Society. In recent years he has been working on quality of life improvement projects for persons with special needs.
