Luis Enrique holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Deusto (2005), a Master's degree in Communications Technologies and Systems from the Telecommunications Engineering School of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2012), and a PhD in Engineering for the Information Society and Sustainable Development from the University of Deusto (2019). He currently works as Assistant Professor, within the Department of Mechanics, Design and Industrial Organization of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto, teaching subjects of the mathematical area (Calculus, Algebra, Discrete Mathematica, Statistics) in several engineering degrees. Likewise, he is a member of the research group "Deusto Smart Mobility", recognized by the Basque Government, where he develops his research activity in the field of intelligent transport systems. Previously, from 2014 to 2022 he worked as a researcher at DeustoTech, the research institute of the engineering faculty of the University of Deusto. In addition, he worked for a year and a half (2013-2014) as a research support technician in the SOFTLAB research group at the University Carlos III of Madrid. His scientific-technical interests and objectives are framed in the field of signal processing and data fusion for the development of location-based services, Ambient Assisted Living and intelligent environments. In this field he developed his thesis, defended in January 2019, entitled ""Pedestrian Navigation using Wrist-Worn Inertial Sensors"", which obtained a grade of Outstanding Cum Laude, as well as the international mention. Additionally, he has conducted two research stays. The first one at the Localization and Exploration in Intelligent Systems (LOPSI) group of the Centro de Automática y Robótica (CAR, CSIC-UPM) of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, in Arganda del Rey, of 3 months duration (May-July 2016). The second stay was developed at the Institute of Navigation and Communications of the German Aerospace Center (German Aerospace Center, DLR) in Munich, of 3 months duration (January-April 2017). He has worked (leading some of them) on more than 10 regional, national and international research projects and contracts. He has co-authored 15 research manuscripts published in international journals and more than 10 communications in international congresses, and participates as reviewer in about ten international scientific journals. He is currently supervising two doctoral theses in the field of localization systems.
