Ciara O'Higgins is a assistant professor in the Management Department of DBS, and teaches in undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses. She is the Academic Director of the executive in-company course for BRTA, as well as the Module Coordinator for the Doing Business in Latin America module of the Master of International Business. Previously, she worked for 20 years promoting the internationalisation of firms. She was Director for International Development at Tecnalia & Research and Innovation, responsible for the deployment of the centre’s international strategy and management of its international presence (offices, commercial network and alliance of associated innovation centres). She also participated in the ELAN Network project, a European Commission funded project led by TECNALIA to promote alliances and technology-based business opportunities between Europe and Latin America. Before this, she was a consultant at IDOM, with particular focus on international and economic development projects with multilateral funding. She obtained her undergraduate degree in European Management Science (with German) from the University of Kent at Canterbury (England), her MBA from IESE Business School (Spain), Master in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University José Camilo Cela (Spain) and her PhD from the University of Deusto (Spain).
