Lecturer in Criminal Law at the University of Deusto (since September 2013). Licenciatura in Law, University of Salamanca (2004), PhD from the same university (2010) where she presented a thesis entitled “El delito de corrupción de funcionarios públicos extranjeros. Un análisis del art. 445 del Código penal”, receiving the distinction of Doctor Europaeus; the thesis was also distinguished with the outstanding doctoral award by the same university. When working on her doctoral thesis, she received a grant for training university teaching staff financed by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and a research grant financed by Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (German Academic Exchange Service-DAAD). She later received a postdoctoral mobility grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education. Her training in Criminal Law was further advanced during various research stays at the Cologne University Institute of Criminal and Procedural Criminal Law in Germany. Her research focus areas also led her to a stay at the Public Prosecutor’s Ad-Hoc Office for the Fujimori-Montesinos case in Peru and the University of Parma in Italy. Her research mainly centres on corruption, about which she has written several articles. One is a monograph entitled "El delito de corrupción en las transacciones comerciales internacionales". Other areas of study are linked to International Criminal Law (the crime of aggression) and criminology (instruments to measure new criminal tendencies). She has lectured and led seminars and conferences on various topics related to criminal sciences at European and Latin American universities and institutions. She has also taken part in research projects in Spain and abroad. She has broad experience organising R&D+I activities and has worked on numerous publicly financed projects in Spain and on the international scene. She was previously an assistant lecturer and researcher in training at the University of Salamanca and lecturer at the same university. The positive assessment of her teaching and research performance led to her accreditation as a university lecturer granted by the Spanish National Quality and Accreditation Agency ANECA on 19 October 2012. Label 1 Certification for Design and Planning at the University of Deusto for the subjects “Sanctioning Power and Rule of Law”, “Theory of Crime and its Legal Consequences” and “Crimes, offences and their penalties”, January 2014. Member of the editorial board of the Journal “Revista General de Derecho Penal Iustel” since December 2008. Member of the FICP, International Foundation of Criminal Sciences, since May 2013. Assistant in the law office MBL Asesoría Jurídica, Salamanca, from 1/9/2010 to 31/5/2011, working in the fields of Criminal Law (particularly crimes and offences against persons, property, public health, road safety and Civil Law (with a focus on family law, inheritance succession, property rights and payment order procedures.
