nerea.mujika@deusto.esNerea Mujika Ulazia holds a BA in Geography and a PhD in History from the Universities of Navarre and Deusto, respectively. She has been a lecturer at the Bilbao campus since 1983, being actually the titular teacher. She also has been Director of the Institute of Basque Studies between 2011-2016. She is a member of the Special Committee on Toponymy of the Advisory Board on Basque Language as an expert. She teaches on the BA in Tourism: Specifically, she teaches the following subjects: “Territorial tourism resources and products”, “Tourist Destinations”, “Specialist Tourist Destinations” and she supervises “Undergraduate Final Year Projects”. Her publications mainly deal with Regional Geography and toponymy. In the past few years she has focused on toponymy applied to mapping.Her other areas of research interest are: Toponymy applied to mapping, “Ondare Bizia: Exilio, Emigración y Retorno Vasco” and the Biscay Observatory of Toponymy.She is a member of the Tourism research team and in her last research work she has participated in the “Diagnosis and new lines of research in the field of cultural tourism in Biscay” project.
